I'm from Whitley City, Kentucky, which is in McCreary County. I now live in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.

Family is everything. It's home. I still go back home to visit cousins. My parents are both gone, grandparents, all of that's gone. And we still visit still keep the family going.

Both of my grandfathers worked in coal mines. They both died of the black lung. They died hellacious deaths. It was horrible, where they couldn't breathe. My dad had had a job to start at the mines. But my dad’s dad went to the foreman and he told him he's not allowed to work here. I forbid it. So that's one of the reasons we moved to Cincinnati was so he didn't have to do that. Didn't have to live that hard life.
