Judy Waldron
My Mom played the piano. Every night when we go to sleep, we'd hear her playing the same song. So then she made me start piano lessons when I was six, and so that's how I started in piano.
Her mother was a country girl and she played pump organ in the church and her little town. So my Dad loved to sing and he sang in the choir at church. We all sang in the choir at church. I think I started really with the folk music craze of the 60s. They were singing folk songs, and I got a guitar, and I love to sing along with the folk songs. Our family came from Pendleton County, West Virginia in 1812. I took folks back; we found the graves and everything. We found there’s still a lot of kin around there!
